Local context
Aria Trattoria is a Tampa, Florida destination for guests seeking an engaging blend of old-world Italian warmth and a modern twist. The restaurant’s story is deeply rooted in local industry experience and long-standing family tradition. Massimo, the driving force behind Aria, began learning the craft early—working as a bread boy at the late Scalinatella restaurant at the same locale where this new chapter begins. The significance of the spot runs even deeper, with his baptism reception held there about 30 years ago at the old Il Sole restaurant. With that sentimental history, Aria Trattoria is named after his daughter, Aria Rose, bringing personal meaning to every service day.
Massimo also gained valuable neighborhood know-how during seven years as general manager two doors down at Tresca, earning appreciation from both local patrons and the Boston community. His passion for Italian food and culture has been shaped since childhood, watching his mother cook Italian feasts for family and friends while relying on a strong work ethic instilled by his father’s dedication.
At Aria Trattoria, guests can expect an atmosphere designed to delight—from ambience to food selections—supported by Massimo’s enthusiasm for creating a variety of tastes, smells, and visually appealing creations. The bar is open until 12:30am, making it a great spot for evening dining and late-night atmosphere in Tampa.
